Book Week at St Edward’s College
26.08.19
What an amazing Book Week!

Students at St Edward’s kicked off Book Week with a bang on Friday 16 August starting with the ‘Better Than TED’ Presentation. Comedian and Public Speaker Sean Murphy conducted a three hour workshop which allowed students to improve their skills in improvisation, speaking with intent and debating/public speaking. The students were given individual feedback and should be commended on their ability to work collaboratively between Years 7-11.

The following week the whole library was focused on the Book Week theme ‘Reading is my secret power’. Classes were encouraged to book in and enjoy the activities created by the library staff to celebrate a love of learning and reading. There were huge turnouts every day with the following activities on offer:

Monday: Book in a Jar Competition

Tuesday: Guess the Teacher’s Secret Power

Wednesday: Photobooth

Thursday: Finding Loki

Friday: Superhero Kahoot

All week: Escape Room and Guess the Book Competition.

A huge thank you to the staff and students who embraced Book Week with such joy and engagement and to the library staff who spent a huge amount of time creating such a positive environment for the students. We are excited for what next year may have in store.
