Our students collaborated with peers from two other schools for a full day of exploration at the West Connex Control Center, immersing themselves in the realm of civil engineering.
They received a behind-the-scenes tour of the control center’s functions, gaining insight into its collaboration with emergency services during crises.
The pinnacle of the experience was a hands-on engineering challenge. Guided by real engineers, students constructed spaghetti towers and designed bridges. The boys excelled, building the tallest tower of the day and securing second place in the bridge-building competition. Using only paddle pop sticks and masking tape, they engineered a bridge capable of supporting over 10kg.
