Our theme was Relationships with a focus on father/son relationships. Guest speakers and group facilitators led the boys through an inventory of discussions on the importance of responding to fathers and significant men in their lives, the importance of growing into manhood in relationship to those around us, what it is to be a father in the 21st century, and the ultimate gift of being in relationship with God the Father.
I was impressed by the responses of our boys who showed a depth of maturity in the understanding of the spiritual nature of their lives. The boys participated actively in our liturgy and sang with great enthusiasm. Many thanks to all the staff for providing these significant experiences for the boys. A special thank you to Mr Alex Toole for providing the brilliant music for the retreat, and Mr Baldwin and Mr McCauley who spoke on the day. It certainly prepares Year 10 well for the Year 11 and 12 Senior Retreat experiences that lay ahead.
