Reconciliation Week
08.06.21
From Thursday 27 May to Thursday 3 June, St Edward’s College celebrated Reconciliation Week. This year’s national theme Reconciliation: more than a word, reconciliation takes action, drove the core message that was impressed upon the College Community.

Many firsts were achieved in the week that the entire College should be proud of. This included:

  • A whole school assembly to launch Reconciliation Week and present St Edward’s Reconciliation Action Plan
  • St Edward’s first Aboriginal Smoking Ceremony performed by Tim Selwyn
  • Homeroom and class activities around Reconciliation
  • The College community voting on a Darkinjung name for the new pastoral building, which resulted in the name Yadhaba, meaning to be well.

The Reconciliation Action Plan Committee would like to thank everyone for their open minds and hearts during Reconciliation Week. It was very successful and paves the way for more great work to be done by the College.
