2020-2021 College Captains and Vice Captains

On Wednesday November 3 we celebrated the appointment of the 2021/22 Prefects with a Mass and special blessing at St Patrick’s Parish Church in East Gosford. It gave me great pleasure to announce the newly elected Captain and Vice Captains as part of this ceremony. I would like to congratulate Michael Holmes on his appointment to the role of College Captain and Owen Bradstreet and Luke Richards, to the position of Vice Captains. Michael, Owen and Luke were elected through a process of written application, shortlisting and panel interview. Michael, Owen and Luke are outstanding young men and I look forward to working with them over the coming year.

A Safe Return to School

It has been wonderful this week to see our whole school community return to school after such a long period of Home-Based Learning. Students have quickly settled into the daily routines and have reconnected with their friends and teachers in a very positive way. On Monday our local government area moved to Level 3 COVID-19 guidelines coinciding with our full return to school. It is important to remember however that COVID-19 is still with us and that we adhere to the guidelines and rules aligned with this safety classification. Importantly parents are asked to keep their child at home and have them tested if they develop any signs and symptoms of the virus. Students are required to remain at home until they receive a negative result and parents are asked to keep the College informed by emailing myself or the Pastoral Leader for the year group.

We have adopted all the safety precautions reasonably possible to mitigate the risk within our environment, but we all have a collective responsibility to follow these guidelines to safeguard staff and students.  I will continue to provide families with updates throughout the remainder of the year.

Commencement of the HSC Examinations

Year 12 students commenced their HSC Examinations on Tuesday, with students sitting their English examination. These examinations will continue until December 3. We wish all our students all the very best in these examinations and we pray that they are able to remain calm, stress free and are committed to achieving their best possible results. The examinations can be a stressful time for students especially after the disruption that has occurred throughout the year, but we cannot forget the stress that is experienced by family and loved ones of students sitting the examinations. Listed below are some links to articles which may assist parents and families in supporting their son throughout the examinations.
