The Final Day

What a fitting way to end six years of High School for our graduating class of 2022. The day started with a BBQ breakfast which, as always, was very well received by the boys. It was wonderful to see both staff and students coming together and talking about future opportunities over a bacon and egg roll.  Recognition from the whole school community came about in the form of a guard of honour walk through, which took the boys around the quad to a standing ovation from the rest of the student body.

This walk ended with the traditional tree planting ceremony. The boys also got to play their end of year game of touch and football on the oval. These high stakes games were played in great spirit and with great energy. There was also an opportunity for some to go and support the Opens Rugby league team competing in the National Schoolboy Trophy which was a fantastic occasion and great to see so many supporting their school mates.

The day finished with a combined mass and awards ceremony. This was a truly special way to finish and it was wonderful to see so many proud parents and family members in the audience. Congratulations to all the award winners and special mention to the Sportsman of the Year, Sebastian Plaister and the College Dux of 2022, Fergus Clydesdale.

We wish all the boys and their families every success over the coming weeks and months and look forward to seeing what this group of young men can achieve.

Graduation Mass

The Year 12 Graduation Mass celebrated by Father Vince was a fitting farewell for our students and their families. At this Mass one of our students, Luke Richards responded to the Gospel. His response was insightful and exemplified the characteristics that as a staff we aspire to instill in our students after six years at St Edward’s College.

The music provided by the students and our music staff was of the highest quality and provided much joy for those in attendance. During supper, after Mass, a wonderful convivial atmosphere prevailed in the foyer of the ERC as students, parents and the staff mingled. A highlight of the night was the rendition of the College song which will live long in the memory of our graduating class. A big thank you to all those who contributed to this delightful occasion.
