Last Tuesday, a group of passionate students from our College took part in Doco in a Day, a national initiative run by Edmund Rice Foundation Australia. This unique experience challenged students to create a compelling short documentary—within a single school day—on the theme Equal Access to Education.
Working in small teams, our students researched global education inequality, explored real-world stories, and brought these to life using pre-supplied footage, images, and voiceovers. The result? Powerful three-minute documentaries that raise awareness about the barriers many children and communities face when trying to access education.
The day was not only a creative and collaborative challenge but also a social justice initiative. Each team is now using their finished documentary to support their ongoing fundraising efforts for the Edmund Rice Foundation. Every dollar raised goes directly toward increasing access to education in communities around the world—empowering individuals, families, and entire communities.
We’re proud of our students’ creativity, compassion, and advocacy, and look forward to seeing the impact of their storytelling and fundraising efforts.
