An Update from the French Faculty
Bonjour et Bienvenue! This term, the Year 8 cohort embarked on their French language journey, setting themselves up for lifelong language and cultural learning.

In just 10 weeks they have learnt how to introduce themselves, ask where other people live and what country they are from, and give basic information. The boys have immersed themselves in learning about Francophone countries and cultures, researching and learning about the rich and colourful lives of 440 million French speaking people. The Year 8 boys have made a brilliant start to their language learning – Bravo!

The French faculty hosted French sessions as part of the Day in the Life experience for new Year 6 students with the help of 13 enthusiastic Year 10 French students. The Year 6 boys were able to experience the exciting and fun filled lessons in store for them when they start language learning at St Edward’s. The Year 10 boys facilitated French cultural Bingo games and their competitive streak came out when helping the Year 6 students compete in a model Eiffel Tower building competition. The Year 10 students were also able to show off their brilliant command of the French language, showcasing their hard work and dedication as they supported the Day in the Life students through the fun French activities.
