Year 7 Religious Education
10.03.25
This term, 7Core1 has been actively engaged in getting to know one another and exploring what it means to belong to the Catholic community at St Edward’s College.

As part of our journey, we participated in a spirituality walk, which allowed us to discover and reflect on the various religious symbols around the school that highlight our Catholic identity.

During our walk, we visited the statue of Edmund Rice in the Quad, where we learned about his legacy and the values that continue to shape our school community. We also spent time in the chapel, where we explored the symbolism within the Edmund Rice icon, deepening our understanding of his faith and mission. Another special moment was gathering in the yarning circle, where we came together in prayer, reinforcing the importance of reflection and unity within our class.

One of the most enjoyable activities this term was sharing our “Belonging Showbags.” This task allowed us to express our unique identities and experiences, while also strengthening friendships and connections with our classmates. Through this activity, we not only learned more about each other’s backgrounds and interests but also developed a greater sense of community and inclusion within our class.

Overall, this term has been a meaningful introduction to life at St Edward’s, filled with opportunities to connect, reflect, and embrace the values that define our school.
