Highlights included visits to Newcastle University and a presentation from Macquarie University, the Illuminate Program, a money management workshop, and sessions on becoming scam-savvy. Students explored career pathways through North Construction, heard an inspiring personal journey from an Eddies Old Boy, and engaged with the Australian Defence Force (ADF) to learn about future opportunities.
They also deepened their understanding of First Nations culture during an excursion to Bouddi National Park and supported the Over 55 community in Terrigal through a gardening project.
Special interest workshops added even more variety, with activities such as creating a personal brand, fishing, kayaking, buying and affording a car, eating for performance and recovery, cooking basics, creating music, and a maths extension course.
It’s been a dynamic and rewarding program that has equipped students with practical skills and broadened their horizons for the future.
