Farewell Year 12
This week, we bid farewell to our Year 12 students as they complete their final classes and turn their attention to preparing for the HSC Examinations. This exceptional group of young men has consistently upheld the values and standards that define St Edward’s. Their dedication to personal growth and academic excellence has been evident throughout their journey, and we are confident they will approach their exams with the same commitment and determination.
We have had the privilege of watching these students grow—from wide-eyed Year 7’s to the impressive young men they are today. When asked what makes St Edward’s truly special, I often point to the calibre of our graduating class. While academic achievement is important, we believe true success lies in nurturing individuals who are socially conscious, reflective, spiritually grounded, and prepared to be compassionate partners, fathers, friends, and role models. The Class of 2025 exemplifies these qualities.

To honour their farewell, we held two significant events: the Graduation Mass and the Academic Awards Assembly. Wednesday evening’s Graduation Mass was a moving celebration, bringing together students, families, and staff to bless the journey ahead. Father Vince Casey from Terrigal Parish led the Mass, and a highlight was the reflection delivered by Shenath Fonseka. His thoughtful reflection on the Gospel, paired with the beautiful performance by the parent choir, offered a heartfelt tribute to our students. We are grateful to Father Vince for inviting Shenath to share his message, which reminded us of the incredible potential our young people hold.
Today’s Academic Awards Assembly recognised the outstanding achievements of our Year 12 students and celebrated their contributions to College life. We extend our warmest congratulations to all award recipients and thank them for their hard work, leadership, and dedication.

Celebrating Student Engagement and Looking Ahead to Next Term
As Term 3 draws to a close, I would like to extend my sincere congratulations and gratitude to all students who have actively engaged in the rich and diverse life of the College. Whether through academic pursuits, spiritual reflection, social justice initiatives, or extra-curricular activities, your commitment and enthusiasm have made a meaningful impact. Your efforts are deeply appreciated, and you should be proud of all you have achieved.
On Friday morning, Term 3e Interim Reports for students in Years 7–10 will be available via the Compass Portal. These reports provide valuable feedback aligned with our newly developed College Learner Profile, offering insights into each student’s progress and learning habits. I encourage students and families to review these reports thoughtfully and use them as a foundation for setting purposeful goals for the remainder of the year. Year 11 students will receive their Preliminary Reports early in Term 4.
As we approach the holiday break, I hope everyone takes the opportunity to rest, reflect, and recharge.
