Waterford End of Term Update
01.07.25
A Time to Reflect and Serve our Community

As we wrap up another busy and rewarding term, it’s a great time to celebrate the positive momentum of the Waterford Service Learning Program. Across the College, students have continued to engage meaningfully with acts of service that benefit both our local and wider communities. From supporting events such as the Push-Up Challenge and Coast Shelter visits, to participating in Religious Retreats and other College initiatives, students are showing a strong commitment to the values of justice, compassion, and solidarity.

This term, students also engaged in the digital reflection process during Religion classes, responding to a series of questions in a Microsoft Form designed to prompt meaningful thinking about the purpose of their service. These reflections encouraged students to consider how their acts of service connect to the life and teachings of Jesus, and how Catholic Social Teachings can be lived out in real and tangible ways.

With the upcoming two-week school holidays, now is the perfect opportunity for students to plan and complete some Waterford hours—especially with the final submission due by the end of Term 3. Every hour counts, and the break provides a great chance to lend a hand around the home, volunteer in the community, or contribute to meaningful causes.

A list of activity ideas can be seen below in the Waterford Opportunities Document.

We look forward to seeing the many ways our students continue to live out the Edmund Rice tradition of service during the holiday break. Thank you to all families for your support of the Waterford Program so far—let’s keep the momentum going!
