Semester One Academic Assembly
On Wednesday 29 July, we celebrated the achievements of our students at the Semester One Academic Assembly, attended by students, staff and families. The assembly recognised students who demonstrated outstanding commitment to their learning, personal growth and contribution to the St Edward’s College community.
Students were recognised through two key awards: the Merit Award and the Learner Profile Award.
Merit Awards
At St Edward’s College, we believe excellence is built through consistent effort, positive choices and a commitment to living our College Values. Throughout Semester One, students had the opportunity to earn Merit Awards in recognition of their dedication to learning, respectful relationships, service to others and active participation in College life.
The students recognised at the assembly achieved an outstanding number of merits across the semester. These awards celebrate more than a single accomplishment; they acknowledge a sustained commitment to doing their best, demonstrating responsibility, showing perseverance and making a positive contribution to our community each day.
These students are excellent role models for their peers, demonstrating that success comes through hard work, resilience and a willingness to embrace opportunities for growth.
Learner Profile Awards
The Learner Profile Award is presented to students who achieved results within the top 10% of their year group based on their Learner Profile scores from Terms 1 and 2.
The Learner Profile, together with our College Values, is informed by our College Aspiration statement, which encourages students to become respectful, autonomous and resilient learners committed to personal growth. It reflects the contemporary learning dispositions that help students develop the skills and attitudes required for lifelong learning.
Displayed in classrooms across the College, the Learner Profile and College Values provide a clear guide for students, encouraging them not only to achieve academic success but also to develop the habits of mind, character and behaviours that will support them throughout their lives.
We congratulate all students who received awards and celebrate their dedication, growth and commitment to excellence.
