We hold our annual Awards Assemblies to honour students who live our Learner Profile and embody the core values of St Edward’s College.
Whether excelling academically, demonstrating significant growth, or contributing to the life of the College through service and spirit, each recipient reminds us that success takes many forms and that every achievement matters.
Semester-Based Awards
Semester 1
In Semester 1, students are recognised through:

- Learner Profile Awards
These awards affirm the ongoing development of each learner and encourage students to strive for excellence and growth.
Semester 2
In Semester 2, to provide a broader recognition of student achievement across the year, the following awards are presented:

- School Spirit Awards
Award Definitions
- Merit Awards (Semester 1): Awarded to students who have accumulated the highest net number of merits, reflecting their positive contribution to classroom and College life. This total is calculated by considering all merits awarded and deducting any demerits received. Merits are awarded by teachers in recognition of students who demonstrate respectful behaviour, active engagement, and a commitment to learning both in and beyond the classroom.
- Learner Profile Award (Semester 1 and 2): Awarded to students in the top 10% of their cohort based on their Learner Profile score. This award reflects a commitment to a Liberating Education, recognising students who engage deeply in their learning and strive to reach their personal best.
- Academic Awards (Semester 2): Awarded to students who place in the top 3% of their cohort in a subject. This award acknowledges excellence in scholarship and the disciplined pursuit of knowledge.
- Student Growth Award (Semester 2): Awarded to students who have demonstrated substantial growth in their Learner Profile relative to others in their cohort. This reflects our belief in growth, perseverance and the transformative power of education.
- School Spirit Award (Semester 2): Awarded to students who demonstrate a strong commitment to the life of the College, reflecting Inclusive Community and Gospel Spirituality. Criteria include:
- Attendance at both Swimming and Athletics Carnival
- Participation in Founder's Day
- Attendance on the final day of Terms 1, 2, and 3
- Meaningful service to the College
- Completion of mandatory Waterford hours
- A consistently positive record for uniform, attendance and behaviour
