Year 7 Religion – Written By Billy Rollston

For my assessment task in Religion, I chose to recreate the lamb from the Edmund Rice icon.

The lamb is a representation of Jesus as the Lamb of God. In the Old Testament, the Lamb of God was the sacrifice which took away the sins of the people. Edmund, being like Jesus, made sacrifices so that less fortunate people could live better lives without sinning.

To create the lamb, I covered a wooden sign with white fur and beads. The legs are made from pipe cleaners tied together with masking tape. The head is made from white felt covered in more white fur, and connected to the body with bamboo sticks and masking tape. I used a big black button as the eye, and made the ears using real sheep’s wool.
