The community was saddened by the sudden passing of Br Ath on Tuesday evening at 99 years of age. Br Ath was a former Provincial of the order, Headmaster and a giant among the Christian Brothers.

A huge thank you to all those who worked so hard to ensure we celebrated Founders Day last Friday in style. To Tony Beacroft for organising the wonderful Mass and old boy Fr Jim McKeon who was quite inspirational in his homily in prompting the boys to take the hard road of faith and to use their God given talents to assist others less fortunate.

What a very busy term ahead with preparations already underway for Founders Day celebrations on 10th May, followed by Year 8 and 10 examinations, NAPLAN Assessments, and Year 12 Retreat in week 3. These are followed by examinations for Year 7 and 9 in week 4, and Year 11 Retreat in week 6.

This term has been particularly busy and I thank all the staff and boys for the smooth running of so many events. We look forward to the holiday break and pray for a safe return of all our community.

My thanks to our Mission and Identity Co-ordinator Mr Tony Beacroft for leading our inaugural prayer evening for families. The ‘Thought for the day’ is the opening prayer we read on the night and I have included it in this newsletter so families might read and reflect upon it.
