Welcome to the St. Edward's College website.

The College is an independent school whose purpose is to provide Catholic secondary education for boys resident within the Central Coast region in the Edmund Rice Tradition.

Facilities: St. Edward’s covers a nine hectare site on the shores of Caroline Bay.  The College has three multi-purpose ovals, other sporting facilities, a multipurpose hall/gymnasium, specialised technology & art facilities, computer laboratories, and a purpose built food technology room.

The fee schedule is all-inclusive.  Parents are not asked to pay for such activities as excursions and Friday sport.  These are included in the school fee. The College takes out 24-hour accident insurance (365 days/year, worldwide) on behalf of all students.

St. Edward’s College offers a range of courses to cater for individual student requirements.  This includes
• Extension courses,
• Courses with a vocational orientation,
• Programmes to extend talented students,
• Programmes to assist students who find the schooling process difficult.

Liturgical Celebrations: On a regular basis throughout the year, the celebration of the Eucharist - the central action of our Catholic Faith - is provided for the whole school community: Reflection Days and Retreats are provided for all students.

The College facilitates a comprehensive Social Justice Programme that aims to develop the Christian awareness of the students and to positively help those in need on the Central Coast, the wider Australian community, and the world at large.

St Edward’s College provides over 250 computers throughout the campus comprising six state of the art computer laboratories equipped with multimedia facilities, internet, and digital media library.  Computer access is also available to students via the library, and other specialist areas which include Photography, Drama, Design and Technology, and Music rooms.

To assist students in their decisions on further education, subject choices and possible career pathways, St Edward’s has a full-time career adviser and vocational education coordinator working in career education.

Students who demonstrate a talent in the sporting arena are given many opportunities to develop their skills through the numerous representative sporting competitions available at the college.  All the competitions maintain pathways to representation at an elite level.

St Edward's College runs an Outdoor Education program through camps, which are held in Years 7 to 10.  The program provides a sequential course for the four years, developing skills of a higher order each year.  All activities are supervised by accredited staff of 'Outdoor Education Australia', as well as a member of staff from the College.  Some of the activities conducted on these camps include archery, canoeing, sailing, windsurfing, abseiling, rock climbing, mountain biking, initiative challenges and fencing.

Roll-call groups are arranged with a small number of students from each year 7 to 12 (about 24 students).  Senior students are given the opportunity to care for and help younger students; they in turn, get to know older students in a friendly and supportive atmosphere; they have an older peer to relate to at school.  The inter-relationship helps promote a positive spirit throughout the College.

The College employs two full-time counsellors to work with students to talk through issues that are of concern to them.
